Fighter looks toward career as movie actor

Danny Musico is looking for a knockout in both the boxing ring and the movie theaters. Musico, a Nutley resident, is now training for an IBC middleweight title belt as he attends acting school and also prepares for an upcoming TV movie.

"There's so much going on in my life," Musico said, while taking a break during his daily workout at Gold's Gym, Belleville. His schedule is amazingly full as he tries to juggle acting school, acting roles and his promising boxing career.

Musico begins his daily routine by jogging 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Then he takes off for New York City where he auditions 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for various acting roles. Next, he returns to New Jersey to box at Marciano's Gym, Jersey City, which last from about 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. He then returns to NYC for more auditions, which run on average from 2:30 till 4:30 p.m. Finally, in the early evening hours he arrives at Gold's Gym for further workouts.

Musico admits his days are very long, but he said he's working hard because people believe in him and he wants to be his absolute best. "The biggest waste in life is a waste of talent," said Musico, adding that he believes he will only succeed if God allows it. Musico said his faith in God has helped   sustain him through his arduous, but exciting time in his life.
